As a development partner and provider of Sensor, Connectivity and Electrification solutions, Voltaira is active in the target markets of specialized applications which utilize their wiring solutions. This clearly differentiates themselves from mass markets such as standard cables and central wire harnesses. The focus on these solutions provides for an attractive growth trajectory.
Voltaira is specialized in the design and production of solutions for the automotive, eMobility and Micro-Mobility industries, addressing the areas of efficiency, powertrain, eMobility, safety and autonomous driving. The company is operating with a global footprint of 16 locations across 12 countries and supplies a global base of Tier 1 automotive suppliers and new mobility OEM(s).
The story of VOLTAIRA began in 2015 in Pfullingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The predecessor company of VOLTAIRA, PRETTL SWH group was officially founded in February 2015, when Trilantic entered a partnership with the founding family PRETTL to support the existing management team of the Sensor Wiring Harness Business in their strategic initiatives, to grow the international footprint, expand the customer base, as well as increase investments in product- and process development.
As part of the partnership, the Trilantic Europe team has been supporting the company and family via relevant initiatives including amongst other items, the global roll-out of SAP, building out the company’s global R&D function, as well as the global sales and product management organization. Furthermore, the company has continued its international expansion and opened two new production facilities. For example, the new state-of-the-art production facility in Vietnam, which was opened in 2016, is today the largest facility across the company with approximately 30,000 sqm production floor space.
Positioned To Benefit From Global Automotive Megatrends: E-Mobility And Autonomous Driving
Today, Voltaira is in an excellent position to significantly benefit from key global automotive megatrends such as e-Mobility and autonomous driving. Regarding e-Mobility, the company relies on a dedicated e-Mobility R&D center, and offers special cables and wire harnesses for the electric powertrain in its product portfolio. Regarding autonomous driving applications, the company produces a wide range of cable solutions that connect the various sensors needed by the autonomous car to sense the environment.
Roots Of Success
Most of the turnover of the Voltaira is generated in the automotive sector. A key factor in this is the on-site presence at customer facilities. By having sites in all major growth markets, the company is extremely well positioned in the price-sensitive automotive sector, and this can guarantee to meet the demand for "local content". This is because the skills required for manufacturing components cumulatively combine to create complete high-quality solutions.
However, it is not only the flexible, cost-effective production of small and medium-sized product lines that pays off: the strength of the Voltaira is mainly due to one factor: its ability to develop and manufacture complete systems.
